Compare the geometry.

Opening or overlap?

Track whether the inset stays attached to the outer rim through changes in angle and light.

One frame or a sequence?

Compare consecutive frames, not only the strongest-looking still. Separate a central hole, a side opening and a protrusion.

Same form or same cause?

A shared outline is a useful search feature. Test each source case with its own camera, survey and event records.

Source histories

The comparison starts with three source images: the Busan video, a Baltic sonar reproduction and the image associated with the February 2023 Yukon interception. Each shows a rounded form with an apparent inset on one side.

The research question is whether that inset is part of a physical form, a shadow or overlapping structure, or a product of imaging and reproduction. Consecutive frames and independent viewpoints can distinguish those hypotheses.

Sky Canada’s June 2025 report describes the Yukon object as a smaller balloon. The Korean sequence and Baltic feature retain their own source histories.

One observer, using 12× binoculars for 3–4 seconds, described an irregular round object: either a missing piece or a protrusion. The report predates the Yukon comparison thread.

Sampled views show a small object changing apparent profile against the sky. Its edge is too small in the inspected video to resolve a C-shaped opening.

A sampled later view shows a dark double arc above several lights, rather than the isolated bright C seen in the Busan image.
