VISUAL RESEARCH / METHOD

Know what you’re looking at.

A useful atlas makes the origin of an image as visible as the image itself.

Four separate kinds of material

Source recording: a film, photograph or sensor record with an identified release. Authenticity of a recording does not establish the object's identity or origin.

Witness drawing: an image made by, or with, a person describing an experience. It documents their description.

Context image: a photograph of a location, an exhibit, or a historical artwork. It helps orient the reader; it does not document the reported event.

AI-generated illustration: a visual interpretation of published descriptions. It is not evidence and is labelled wherever it appears.

Open-minded, source-specific

Evidence bands belong to individual reports and claims. They are not a numerical probability of extraterrestrial origin. Follow the original source, compare accounts and ask what additional observation would distinguish competing explanations.

Reuse and credit

Source media retain their own rights. A data export licence does not relicense photographs, video, interview thumbnails, or third-party writing. Unclear-rights archives are linked, not copied. Official players load only when you open a video.

The globe

Earth imagery: Blue Marble Next Generation, NASA Earth Observatory / Reto Stöckli. The satellite mosaic is geographic context, not imagery of the incidents. Exact, approximate and regional locations retain their precision labels; a globe marker is not a claim of survey accuracy.
