Bennewitz (1927–2003), an electronics manufacturer near Kirtland Air Force Base, filmed lights over the Manzano weapons area and believed he was decoding alien signals. AFOSI records show he was interviewed by Richard Doty, and William Moore admitted feeding him false information. He was hospitalised in 1988.
