Jim Semivan spent twenty-five years in the CIA's Directorate of Operations before retiring. In 2017 he was one of the founders of To The Stars Academy with Tom DeLonge, Luis Elizondo, Christopher Mellon, Hal Puthoff and Steve Justice. He has said he and his wife had an encounter at home in the 1990s that he did not report while serving, and that he does not know what the phenomenon is.
His agency career is documented by the agency's own acknowledgment of his service. His public statements are careful and mostly about what he does not know.
