Betty and Barney Hill abduction report

What was reported. Returning from Canada on the night of 19 September 1961, the Hills watched a light that grew into a disc with a row of windows near Indian Head, New Hampshire. Barney stopped and viewed figures through binoculars, then fled. They arrived home hours later than expected. Betty had dreams of an examination; in 1964 psychiatrist Benjamin Simon hypnotised both, and each described being taken aboard and examined by short grey beings. (FACT about the report.)

What followed. John Fuller's 1966 book "The Interrupted Journey" and a 1975 television film made the case the model for the abduction narrative, including the "star map" Betty drew. Simon himself thought the shared account came from Betty's dreams. (FACT.)
