Betty and Barney Hill reported that on 19 September 1961 a craft followed their car through the White Mountains and that they later recovered, under hypnosis with Dr Benjamin Simon, memories of being taken aboard. Betty's 'star map' and the 1966 book The Interrupted Journey fixed the pattern for later accounts. Both are deceased.
