Ross Coulthart

Ross Coulthart is an Australian investigative journalist with a long career at the Sydney Morning Herald, Four Corners and 60 Minutes Australia, and the author of In Plain Sight (2021). In June 2023 he conducted the NewsNation interview in which David Grusch first described retrieved craft, and he has since become one of the most visible reporters on the subject, hosting a NewsNation programme and speaking regularly about what sources tell him.

Coulthart has said sources told him that a craft too large to move is concealed under a building in the United States, and that he knows where it is but will not say. He has also reported on alleged crash retrievals in other countries. These reports rest on unnamed sources and none has been confirmed. Critics say he treats testimony as fact; he answers that he reports what witnesses say and has protected his sources for forty years.
