General Ramey with the Fort Worth debris, 8 July 1947

Brig. Gen. Roger Ramey and Col. Thomas DuBose pose with the material flown from Roswell to Fort Worth, photographed by J. Bond Johnson for the Star-Telegram. The Air Force later identified it as a Project Mogul balloon train; the debate is over whether this was the material found on the ranch.

An interpretation of the reports

AI interpretation of two layers of Roswell testimony: the foil, beams and struts Jesse Marcel described in 1947, and the disc-like hull later witnesses added. The US Air Force attributes the debris to a Project Mogul balloon train; this picture renders the witness version. Not a photograph, not evidence.

Whatever fell near Roswell, New Mexico in July 1947. The Army first announced a “flying disc”, then a balloon; later witnesses described foil that returned to shape. The corpus records Jesse Marcel’s memory metal, a former CIA officer’s guarded view that “something happened”, Jesse Michels’ note that Roswell held the 509th bomb group, and the official Mogul explanation.
