David Grusch

David Grusch is a former US Air Force intelligence officer who served as the National Reconnaissance Office's representative to the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force and later as co-lead for UAP analysis at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. In June 2023 he told NewsNation and The Debrief that the United States holds retrieved craft of non-human origin and has run a decades-long programme to reverse-engineer them, and that he had filed a complaint with the Intelligence Community Inspector General over reprisals. On 26 July 2023 he repeated the substance of this under oath before the House Oversight subcommittee, saying his knowledge came from interviews with more than forty witnesses rather than first-hand sight.

The Inspector General found his complaint credible and urgent, a finding that concerns the reprisal allegation rather than the existence of craft. The All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office wrote in its 2024 historical report that it found no verifiable evidence of any such programme and that the accounts it examined traced to misidentified authorised programmes. Grusch has said he gave the office no information because he distrusted its handling of classified material. Nothing he has described has been shown in public.
