Two stories give this shape its place. The first is Kecksburg, December 1965: Jesse Michels says the craft in the Netflix drama was “incorrectly portrayed” and “should look like a bell or acorn”, and UAPGerb describes the object as “a jello mold with half a ping pong ball at the top”. The second is Die Glocke: Nick Cook recounts “this idea of Die Glocke” and its supposed “torsion field”, and Colonel Bill McConnell repeats the legend that the “Nazi bell” created a “high energy torsion field” inside the bell.
First-hand flight reports are rarer but exist. Tim Alberino says a Guadalcanal witness “saw an almond shaped uh rather a acorn-shaped craft” lying on its side, and another who had one of these craft “30, 40 feet above him”. Matthew Pines says the vehicles he has heard described are “bell-shaped or acornshaped vehicles” that look “as if they’ve been flown”, and Steven Greer, in conversation with Michels, refers to “mama bear and papa bear acornshaped” UFOs.
Explanations offered: the Soviet Kosmos 96 probe re-entering (the mainstream reading of Kecksburg), a US re-entry vehicle, a misremembered fireball, and — for Die Glocke — a post-war legend with no primary documents. The corpus treats the Kecksburg recovery as contested and the Bell as thin.
